The Early Retiree Reinsurance Program
The Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) provides reimbursement to participating employment-based plans for a portion of the costs of health benefits for early retirees and early retirees' spouses, surviving spouses, and dependents. Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) of 2009
Employer mailing dates for CHIPRA Notice:
- For plan years beginning between from February 4, 2010 through April 30, 2010, the notice must be provided by May 1, 2010.
- For plan years beginning on or after May 1, 2010, the notice must be provided by the first day of the next plan year (January 1, 2011 for calendar year plans).
