Residents of Massachusetts can begin signing up for Commonwealth
Choice on May 1st, for a July 1st coverage date. To enroll in a
Commonwealth Choice health plan, members and/or employers must pay a
monthly premium. The premium will depend on the plan you choose,
and must be paid every month, even if you do not use any healthcare
services.
Please note:
there are no income requirements for Commonwealth Choice. Any
qualifying individual or family can sign up. In fact, Massachusetts is
requiring all its qualifying residents to obtain health insurance by
July 1, 2007. However, if your income falls below established
guidelines, you may be eligible to enroll in a Commonwealth Care plan
at lower or no premium costs to you.
