Commonwealth Choice is a health insurance program for individuals, families and small group employers in Massachusetts who currently do not have access to health insurance.

NHP is proud to have been chosen by the Health Connector as one of only 6 Massachusetts-based health plans to receive the Connector Seal of Approval and offer Commonwealth Choice.

As of May 1, 2007 individuals and families can enroll in a Commonwealth Choice plan through the Commonwealth Health Connector. Small group employers will be able to purchase insurance through the Health Connector shortly.

Important information about Massachusetts Law

As of July 1, 2007 all qualifying Massachusetts residents are required to have health insurance. Those who do not meet this requirement will face tax penalties.

Purchase health insurance directly from NHP

In addition to the six HMO products available through the Connector, individuals and families can also purchase eleven different NHPCare HMO products. You may purchase an NHPCare HMO plan directly through Health Services Administrators (HSA), a division of our preferred intermediary, the Massachusetts Business Association (MBA).
