Vision Care Benefit
NHP Commonwealth Choice members are eligible to receive the following services from any vision (Optometry) service provider contracted with NHP:
- Eye exams: Members may receive one eye exam every twelve months. Office visit copays will apply.
Eyewear Value Program Discounts
NHP Commonwealth Choice members can also get special discounts, including contact lenses, at Cambridge Eye Doctors locations as part of our Eyewear Value Program described below.
Eye Exams
For eye examinations and contact lens fittings, simply schedule an appointment with a participating provider. You pay only the co-payment amount printed on your member card (if any), plus any separately charged contact lens fitting fee. Then show your NHP member card when you purchase eyewear or contact lenses.
With an eye exam at Cambridge Eye Doctors, you get:
- Free frames from the SightCare Silver Collection including single vision, non-coated plastic lenses
Or, choose from these upgrades for more selection:
- SightCare Platinum Collections: $49.95 for frames, including single vision, non-coated plastic lenses
- SightCare Kids' Collection: $49.95 for frames, including single vision polycarbonate lenses
- SightCare Designer Collection: $99.95 for frames, including single vision, non-coated plastic lenses
Specialty Lenses:
- Bifocal Lenses: additional $35 required with any frame from the SightCare Collections
- Progressive/Multifocal Lenses: additional $80 required with any frame from the SightCare collections
Contact Lenses:
- Standard Daily Wear lenses from a designated collection are free, if you are a suitable candidate with a standard spherical correction. Fitting fees associated with contacts are not covered and will be billed separately to you.
- 40% savings on contact lenses (excludes B&L Medalist and ACUVUE 1-Day Disposables) with covered eye exam or contact lens fitting.
With a prescription from another provider, you get:
- 40% savings on frames (SightCare Collections excluded)
- 40% savings on contact lenses. Fitting fees are not included and will be billed directly to you.
- 25% on non-prescription sunglasses, optical accessories and solutions
- 20% savings on eyeglass lenses only when using your own frames
