Pharmacy Benefit

For members whose benefits include Pharmacy coverage, NHP's drug benefit covers medically necessary prescription drugs. If your coverage includes pharmacy, the MedMetrics logo will be printed on your Member ID card.

In general, NHP covers brand name drugs if there is no generic equivalent available. A generic drug has the same ingredients and is as effective as the brand name, but is usually less expensive. Some drugs, such as Dietary Supplements, are not covered, and some drugs may have quantity limitations or require a Prior Authorization.

If you have paid for a covered prescription from a pharmacy who does not participate with NHP, use the Prescription Drug Reimbursement Form to file a claim for reimbursement.
