In 2009 and 2010, NHP attained "Honor Roll" status as one of the top 5 Medicaid Health Plans in the country, and was also named one of the top 50 Commercial Health Plans in America (2009-2010) according to a joint ranking by U.S. News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
2011 National Case Management Award
NHP won the Case In Point Platinum Award for its Social Care Management Program which exemplifies working across the care continuum to improve health care. The Case In Point Platinum Awards are hosted by Case In Point Weekly, a national case management resource guide published by Dorland Health. They aim to set the standard for programs that deliver sustained success across a variety of disciplines and settings in the overarching continuum of care coordination. Finalists in the social work category demonstrate an outstanding social work case management program that coordinates care as well as resource management throughout the care continuum.
2010 EPA National Environmental Leadership Award in Asthma Management
NHP received the 2010 National Environmental Leadership Award in Asthma Management from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA presented this prestigious award to only one health plan nationally. The award celebrates the outstanding programs and leaders who are improving the lives of people with asthma by delivering strong environmental asthma management as part of their comprehensive asthma care services. Winning this award is a sign of excellence and confirmation of success in helping people with asthma lead healthy, active lives.
Diversity Awards
2011 Rosoff Award
NHP received the 2011 Rosoff Award for "Marketing to a Diverse Audience" for its innovative communications campaign promoting the importance of mammography screenings to Black and African-American women, ages 40 and older, particularly those who live in socio-economically disadvantaged communities. The campaign was lauded for its strong visual appeal and messaging that was targeted at a local level to create awareness, education and a call to action in an effort to remove barriers and address a health disparity in this community.
2010 Boston Business Journal First Annual Leaders in Diversity Awards
NHP was presented with the Leadership Award in the organization category by Color Magazine. The award recognizes the importance of NHP's mission to promote the health and wellness of the diverse populations we serve, and the importance of how we reflect and respect diversity and inclusion in our staff.
2009 Rosoff Award for Internal Diversity Initiative
NHP was recognized for excellence in fostering diversity within our organization. This premier New England award recognized NHP's efforts in recruiting and maintaining a diverse work force and acknowledged the success of our Diversity Committee's partnerships, programs and trainings.
